Asian grocery store for grab and go breakfast win. Then I supplemented
it with a not so great snickersoodle cookie.

Leftovers from last week because those girls are ammmazing. Bi-rite
salted caramel ice cream sandwiched between miette Ginger snaps. It
goes perfectly with the weather.

I started this morning on the early side by joining Randall and anneh
for breakfast at dottie's. Dottie's is an sf institution in that there
is always a huge line of folks standing outside and they're not all
tourists. I ordered the lamb-fennel sausage goat cheese spinach
omelet. It came with potatoes and toast, but I upgraded the toast to
cornbread with jalapeño jelly. It was an awesome meal and worth waking
up early for. Although I love sleep more, so I don't know if that will
happen again, especially not anytime soon.
Later in the day, randall and I had to grab some food before Tim and
Eric. The show was at the mezzanine so we decided to brave 6th street
and head to tu lan. Randall had never been and I hadn't been in like
12 years. We had the imperial rolls with pork kebab and noodles, and
the the house beef with rice. It was good, but not omg. (for those
wondering, tu lan was supposedly Julia childs fave restaurant in sf, I
don't know how true it is, but that's the rumor.) I've had better
Vietnamese food (especially in the south bay) but it was good. The
beef was on the oily side, but hey, that's what makes it tastytown.

Sesame bagel with cream cheese and sliced tomatoes paired with a glass
of odwalla orange juice.

Accompanied by a small salad with grape tomatoes & pomegranate seeds
and homemade french fries. And if you're wondering, Brian sugar style
is "seasoned with whatever rub you want to use and then set on a
baking sheet on top of coke or water, tented up with foil and then
baked at 350 for as long as you can" then we slathered them with BBQ
sauce and broiled them so the sauce could get all sticky warm good. It
was definitely delicious.

Also some with some sort of sweet pastry sauce all over it. It sounds
wrong, but my inner 13 year old is thrilled.
Oh and I'm not at a frat house, this is a real restaurant.

I like soup a lot, and around here there ar lots of soup options. The
problem is none of them are very good. That is except for the lil' gem
that is pasta benne. They only have two kinds each day, but every
flavor is delicious. And lately, their bruschetta is discounted. So
for $5.97 you can get a good tasting cup of soup plus a few slices of
bruschetta (loads of tomato goodness plopped on top) and some greens.
You really can't beat this deal. Plus, the owners are adorable and
have cute accents. Ladies and gentlemen, this place is a win.
