I'm like a magpie in that I like shiny things. Only my shiny things
are actually new things. Take for example these fig and olive
crackers. I bought them because I had never seen them before and also
because I love figs and olives.
They were hearty and seeded, and definitely had the flavors of both.
I'll eat this whole box, but I don't know if I'll buy it again. Maybe
if I also get a log of goat cheese.

We spent the afternoon avoiding the rest of our chores and flying
kites in Chrissy field with samshrew, chris, and sushi dog.
Afterwards, we headed back to their house (after a quick trip to pick
up some pizza dough) and made ourselves a pizza. Salami, serranos,
basil and cheese.
Now we're gonna chow down and play a round of settlers. Nerd Friday in
full effect.

This morning/afternoon has been nothing but choretown. I was thinking
it would be fun to go to Chrissy field afterwards for a nice rewarding
picnic in the sun. Sadly there are too many things to do, so we've
settled for a quick break with homemade morm potstickers. These ones
are special because the skins are homemade with chives and the filling
contains pork belly. Who needs a stinking picnic?
Sidenote: we were out of soy sauce save for two little takeout
packets. Randall decided to use them to make a dipping sauce, but when
he opened the last packet he immediately spilled the contents on the
floor. Great job!
Sidenote2: I still want to go to Chrissy field and tie sushi dog to a
kite.

This morning, Randall decided to make bacon with his breakfast. Once
he was done, I thought it would be a great idea to grill some figs in
the pan with all the bacon grease. It was.
Sidenote: we have been doing chores all morning. It is boring.
