I was trying to come up with a bad pun that involved Nico velvet
underground, but it just wasn't happening. This salad is from la
boulange and is mostly tasty, but impossible to eat. All the stuff is
packed on top and I can't get to the lettuce. I'm afraid i'm going to
eat all the tasty bits and end up with a pile of green.

Got to my desk this morning and found these cuties waiting for me.
Once again, my love is easily bought with treats. Thanks anneh, and
thanks for fighting off the cookie monster in order to get these to me.

Chris is a bit of a jokester. This is the birthday cake he got her. He
said it confused the folks at the cake place, but that it was well
worth it. We even sang the happy bithday song to "your name here."

This evening we headed to aqua to celebrate samshrew's birthday. I had
a pretty interesting black cod, but think samshrew won with her dish.
I believe it was halibut with asparagus, but the real delight was the
licorice sauce on top. I loved it. What I didn't love was the spotty
service and slightly cold food. I mean the guy straight dropped my
fish when he did the tableside plating. I don't know if it gets much
spottier than that.
Sidenote: the desserts were absolutely delicious.
