Champers and cheese != a good workout

I had planned on going to the gym after work, but Lauren opted out and
so i felt that I could opt out too. I told myself it was okay because
I thought I should go to the popsugar Australia wine and cheese happy
hour in the conference room. Something tells me that lifting champers
(for the record I hate that word but can't stop using it) and cheese
to my lips doesn't really burn nearly as many calories as 30 minutes
on an eliptical machine.

The rice mac

I am not allergic to gluten (at least that I'm aware of and I refused
to be tested for it) however I do think that generally speaking,
gluten free frozen foods ate better. I never feel ill and it's usually
really tasty. That said, I didn't mean to buy the gluten free rice mac
and cheese. It was okay (they got the creaminess down), but the rice
pasta was just so-so. Next time we'll go real mac.

One hot mess of a breakfast sandwich

This morning I had a dentist appointment and didn't eat breakfast
first. I figured if I did, I would end up with food stuck in my teeth
and be all embarassed. Therefore I decided to grab breakfast
afterwards. Originally I was just going to opt for cereal (easiest
option I have some at my desk) but the cold rainy weather had me
craving something warm. I figures a breakfast sandwich would do just
the trick. But instead of stopping at the bodega downstairs, I opted
for scaffolding deli. It was warm and gooey, but the steam made the
bread all soggy and in the end it was a total hot mess. I think I'll
stick to downstairs bodega where it is made with love too.

Chi chi chilango!

After a hot date with target and home depot, Randall and I decided to
check out chilango, the new Mexican place on church. The restaurant is
a unique Mexican experience in the city. The tacos and quesadillas are
not your standard taqueria fare. The masa tortillas are made right on
the spot and all the meat is free range and the produce organic when
they can get it. However it's not meals like nopalito or regalito.
Instead it's like street food that has upped it's game. In fact the
menu was hand created and prepared by a chef, not just line cooks. But
the atmosphere is fast and casual; somewhere between a taqueria and a
fancy restaurant. While there Randall and I split two dishes. Mine was
a long oval tortilla spread with black beans and smothered in short
ribs. Randall had a trio of quesadillas, which were more like tacos
and all delicious. We washed it down with a glass of horchata and
called it a meal. I will definitely be going back, if for no other
reason than to try the smothered torta. That mess looked good.
