Breakfast for dinner

This evening I asked Randall what he wanted to do for dinner and he
said breakfast. I had been leaning toward sandwich but decided that I
could actually combine both ideas. So I turned a couple of waffle
pieces, an over easy fried egg, some perfectly cooked bacon, homemade
peach jam and some fresh cracked black pepper into a sandwich. I then
dipped it into a small smidge of maple syrup. It was divine, although
truth be told I slightly overcooked the egg so it wasn't as runny as
I'd hoped it would be. The rest of my waffle pieces were devoured with
guava jam.

An Amuse Bouche before some blah

This afternoon Dhatt came by to tell me about some delicious
vietnamese sandwiches at his desk. These were no ordinary sandwich, as
these delectables were from Saigon sandwiches. This plac is way out of
the lunch comfort radius (as in you have to catch a muni two stops and
then walks several blocks) and are impossible (in my book) to resist.
I cut off a quarter of the pork one and drooled a bit while I ate it.
It really was tasty. A few hours later I ended up eating the lunch I
brought in: a gluten free rice and lemon basil chicken microwave meal.
It wasn't bad, but it was no Saigon sandwich.

Getting the sugar under control, Not so much on the portioning

This morning I decided to have an array of things for breakfast. Those
things included a honeycrisp apple (that I shared), cottage cheese,
some wee tomatoes, and two small slices of beer bread slathered with
the afghani garlic mint cheese spread. I loved it all and thought it
was a nice healthy option. Although I must admit, it looks like a nice
healthy option for two people. Oh well folks, no one said I was going
to work on portion control too.

Just something easy

After getting home much later than I anticipated (thanks to the
awesome forgot my stop detour), I wasn't in the mood to cook.
Thankfully there was a stash of potstickers in the freezer and those
whip up effortlessly.

Sidenote: I really wanted something sweet after dinner. The
question is, is a piece or two of sour gummi candy really worse than
devouring half a bag of baby carrots? Because I ate at least half the
bag.
