I spent most of the day doing chores. Sadly the rooms that I wanted
to clean are still untidy, but the other rooms are great. To avoid
spending the entire day cleaning I headed over to samshrew's house to
give sushi dog a new costume: a sweet lobster dog suit. She hates it,
but that's part of what makes it so dang awesome.
while at samshrew's house we decided to take the lobster for a
walk. We also decided to have some iced coffee. This was maybe a bad
idea on my part, as si did feel a bit jacked up. For the record
though, I only drank half of it.
afterwards we headed back to samshrew's house where she gave me a
mooncake for the moon holiday. It is probably considered a sweet, but
I ate it anyway. You know, for good luck. Besides, i cant remember a
year when i didnt have one for the holiday, and so i figure it gets
some sort of religious pass.

This morning Randall was cutting up part of a baguette and toasting
it. He asked if I wanted any, and I replied just a little. Apparently
he's quite a literal person as I got two little pieces indeed. Guess
which ones are his and which are mine.
I paired my bread slivers with some vanilla skyr and an apple. Then
later in the afternoon I had a structurally sound -- if not somewhat
challenged -- turkey sandwich.

Last night when Randall and I got back into the city, we decided to
head to gialina. After the fail the night before, we figured it was
early enough (not quite 7) to try again. I'm glad we did, it was
really delicious. For starters we had the pan fried peppers with goat
cheese and almonds. I'd never seen a dish like this before. The little
peppers were perfect, the goat creaminess added a smoothness that was
just right, and the almonds provided just the right crunch. I would
highly recommend this dish.
for the main course we went for the pizza with pancetta. I had them
add an egg on my half because that is the most delicious. The crust
there was a mix between perfect and just ho hum. I loved the way it
bubbled on the edges and delivered a nice crunch. However in the spots
where there were a lot of toppings, the crust felt too thin and soggy.
Overall though, it was fantastic. I'd definitely go again as the food
was great, although it must be noted it was rather loud inside and at
times sort of claustrophobic feeling. That pepper dish was worth it
though.
