After dinner, I tried to think of other touristy things we could do
before Amy and Jim left town. It didn't take long before I landed on
one of my college era faves, the buena vista for their Irish coffees.
The legend goes that Irish coffees were invented there. I don't know
if it's true or not, but they do them well and they have it down to a
science. Plus it's always an interesting crowd of people there and
you share tablea with tourists from all over the world. It's sort of
the perfect way to end a tourist day.

After work on Friday, Amy treated Randall and I to a trip to Alcatraz
with her and Jim. We had a great time and to pay her back we treated
her to dinner at houstons. We started off with bubbly and fries, moved
on to clam chowder, and then finished off the meal with ribs. It was
my first time actually eating dinner there (I've only been for drinks
and snacks) and I thought it tasted great.

There's a Cuban sandwich place near the office, but for some reason I
never go. I've had it once before, but I never think about it for
lunch. On Friday sara and I could not figure out what we should have
for lunch and somehow we ended up there. I had the shrimp salad
sandwich mostly because the words jicama and cilantro called my name.
It ended up being a perfect choice especially when I paired it with a
side order of fried plantains.
