After dinner, Randall and I went back to the hotel to do that weird
tradition that couples across America do on their anniversary: eat the
top tier of their wedding cake. We were worried about ours, it rattled
a bit, our freezer isn't great, etc., but we didn't need to fret. It
was mostly okay (the heads fell off, but we put them back together)
and it still tasted great (I thought it was a chocolate tier, but it
was a pear cinnamon one, yay for me, sad for Randall).
I don't know why people do this, but it was fun to see the cake again.

For dinner we ended up at ristorante allegria. I had the caprese salad
and stuffed chicken. When the chicken arrived, I was stuffed myself
and had to end up boxing up most of it. I guess I know what's for
dinner tomorrow.

After kayaking for 2.5 hours, which in my opinion was about 30 minutes
too much direct sun for my personal tastes, Randall and I headed back
to the hotel for dry clothes. But first, we made a quick pit stop at
the oxbow public market for a snack. For those who don't know, oxbow
is a lot like the ferry building in sf. In fact many ofthe same things
are in both places. So we made our snack decision based solely on what
we didn't recognize from home and ended up splitting a pork arepa
sandwich. It was pretty delicious but then again we were pretty
ravenous.

After a bit of the bubbly, we worked our way down to the Kozlowski
farm (sort of like ikeda's on the way to tahoe) where our hosts Dave
and Ken had an amazing spread set out for us. There was homemade
tritip, a huge selection of side salads, strawberry shortcake and
loads of other choices. We loaded up q d now it's time to hit the
river. Kayaking here we come!

Stop number two: iron horse winery up on the top of a huge hill
(translation: I could barely make it up the hill since I am so out of
shape). We did a sparkling wine flight and enjoyed the view.

Randall managed to shave 15 minutes off of the gps estimated hour
travel time (good thing he was driving and not me) and we arrived just
in time. We're on a bike/drink/kayak tour and after four miles of easy
biking we've arrived at stop one: dutton estate winery in sebastapol.
Sidenote: Mattymac, your dad says hi, well not really, but you know
what I mean.

Our hotel has a nice little terrace along the river. It also has a
pretty decent breakfast buffet (these eggs were cooked to perfection
and smothered in cheese). We sat in the sun and slowly consumed our
breakfast. This is normally totally ideal, but we may have taken
things a bit too leisurely. We're doing this bike thing and now we
might be late. Luckily Randall drives too fast for our own good.
