We decided to keep today's Asian theme alive with some BBQ eel, spicy
sauteed garlic spinach, and brown rice (not quite porridge style). The
eel was something we picked up at the Korea store (missing n is
intentional - that's a morm phrase), and was premarinated. We just had
to shove it in the oven. It came out pretty nice, if not a bit over
salty. I probably won't get this exact kind again.

This afternoon Randall and I went on a shopping adventure that ended
at kukje market (Sara and I have been exchanging Asian grocery tales
and locations and this is her fave). While there I stocked up on
essentials like rice, noodles, and you know, shrimp chips.
Sidenote: I only got a little bag for snacking. I haven't had these in
a long time, but they used to be my mom's favorite and we had them a
lot as kids. They taste less fishy than I remember, less greasy too.
Both of these are good things. The MSG used in them however, that is a
different story.

This morning I fried up some leftover rice with eggs and devoured it
all with my Asian store fixings. One of my favorite fixings is the
Formosa brand pork sung. I'm not 100% sure what it is, but it is
essentially dried and shredded pork. If you could imagine taking beef
jerky and shredding it so finely that it sort of dissolves in your
mouth, then you've got the main idea. It's especially good on rice
where it just sort of melts.
sidenote: i just realized that the last ingredient is msg. mmmmm, msg.
sidenote2: my family and i lovingly refer to this stuff as "the hairy pork"
