Two sf food institutions in one day

I started this morning on the early side by joining Randall and anneh
for breakfast at dottie's. Dottie's is an sf institution in that there
is always a huge line of folks standing outside and they're not all
tourists. I ordered the lamb-fennel sausage goat cheese spinach
omelet. It came with potatoes and toast, but I upgraded the toast to
cornbread with jalapeƱo jelly. It was an awesome meal and worth waking
up early for. Although I love sleep more, so I don't know if that will
happen again, especially not anytime soon.

Later in the day, randall and I had to grab some food before Tim and
Eric. The show was at the mezzanine so we decided to brave 6th street
and head to tu lan. Randall had never been and I hadn't been in like
12 years. We had the imperial rolls with pork kebab and noodles, and
the the house beef with rice. It was good, but not omg. (for those
wondering, tu lan was supposedly Julia childs fave restaurant in sf, I
don't know how true it is, but that's the rumor.) I've had better
Vietnamese food (especially in the south bay) but it was good. The
beef was on the oily side, but hey, that's what makes it tastytown.

I heart Tu Lan! The VN chicken and imperial rolls are my fave.
