beet/apple/carrot/Ginger juice and an egg salad sandwich. The guy at
the counter remarked about how my drink matched my outfit (I'm in a
skirt the same color). I told him I planned it that way so that when I
spill on myself, it'll be okay.

I so want to try a beet drink. This is the second time I've seen it. Do the beets get cooked first? They must... Have you made this at home?
i haven't made this at home (i wish i had a juicer - also am too lazy and would probably stain my kitchen red). it's really good. i like this particular mix because it's rather sweet too. im not sure about the beets being cooked or not. i would think not only because i assume cooked ones would get mushy in the juicer, but i have no idea. next time i'll try and pay more attention and report back.
I made a beet smoothie for lunch. I'm not sold on it. Will have to try again. I used 4 small beets (boiled for a few minutes then peeled). I wasn't online and was too lazy to go online to check to see what you had in yours. Soooo, I added some frozen blueberries, strawberries, a banana (I put a banana in all my smoothies cause it keeps everything from separated after a few minutes), some bran, skim milk powder, sweetener, and some skim milk. The color was awesome. Taste, well, I drank it. First sip was kind of like that dirt taste you get from some veggies. It was edible. I think it needed more sweetness. I might try the apple next time. I used a Bullet and it blended really well. Actually, if you don't want a juicer I highly recommend the Bullet. You can get half sizes now with less cups and stuff. Anyhow, thanks for the idea.
